The weather on the Great Salt Lake is constantly changing sometimes with disastrous results. As a consequence it is the responsibility of the rower to always check the weather before embarking on a long row. The wind is an important factor on the smoothness of the lake water. If the wind is over 10 miles per hour for over a few hours the water is generally pretty rough.
